This website represents the views of Hampshire Retained Fire Fighters Union

RFU's fundamental role has to be to accurately and clearly represent the opinions of our members. But you are all spread throughout the county in differing employment so this makes things quite. This website is a major step towards keeping in contact with you, letting you know what's going and getting your opinions but it cannot beat good old face to face meetings.

The problem is, we are all RDS firefighters so when you get together and drill we are probably doing the same and so cannot come to stations to meet you. Therefore what we need individuals who can help us out. Yes, we need you.

Please, please don't stop reading now as it seems like too much of a commitment, we only require a few minutes a month to let us know how your station feels. We would like to build up a network of firefighters from every station who we can email questions to. They can then in turn ask their colleagues for their responses and email us back. HFRS more and more often want us to provide business cases for our propositions and we cannot do this without good quality data and the support and feedback from our members.

If in addition to this you want to become an official HRFU station representative - even better! A union representative receives information from us and ensures that this is cascaded down to the individual. You help with distributing the small amounts of literature we produce and we would welcome you at our union meetings.

To become a station rep, let all of your colleagues know what you are doing and establish if anyone has any problems with it. If not then email us and welcome!
